ANDIE IN NEW JERSEY

For graduation speakers, the UP invites people who have won wars, led wars, headed governments, piloted businesses, and other such grand exploits. Note Miriam Defensor, Franklin Drilon, and other big people. The UP does not celebrate the quiet heroism of the everyday. Andie spent many years alone in the US, working as a nurse, in order to bring her family to the States. Today she can bask in the accomplishments of her son Philippine who has distinguished himself onstage. Andie finished two degrees: English and Comparative Literature, her first love, and Nursing.
